Cold-Process Soap Canes - soap flower canes

I've always been fascinated by polymer clay techniques. More than 2 years ago I created a soap using a technique called Mokume Gane .

Today's soap was inspired by polymer clay flower canes and made out of soap dough. I am not the first one who made a cold-process soap cane. Here are the blogs of 2 talented soapers who made CP soap canes before me:

My "purple flowers" soap is scented with Violet fragrance oil. I hope you like it! :)

Here are a couple of pictures of the process.

Some "leftovers" of my flowers soap canes. The average diameter of each cane is about 2 cm (less than 1 inch):

This is how the soap lathers:

I love how it turned out and I'm looking forward to make more! :)

  3. Wow, your soap is beautiful. If you do not mind could you share what recipe you used for the soap dough?

    1. Thank you, Gwenn! For the soap dough I used several old cured bars of soap which were made almost 2 years ago. I discovered that soap was very pliable. Right now I am trying to recreate the recipe and preparing to make a complete tutorial.

    2. I found that a soap I made a couple of years ago was also pliable. It's still pretty tough but I noticed that I could push in and leave an indention. I super-fatted that recipe to 11%, I think..., with both cocoa butter and shea butter. I ended up with glycerine rivers in it (I had an accident with the titanium dioxide and to much went into the batter) and so rather than sell it, I kept it and it turned out to be a long lasting bar that was also somewhat pliable. Did you find your soap recipe to have any similarities to this description? I don't think it's pliable enough to mould but I kept the recipe and you've inspired me to experiment. I'm currently using the last bar.
